Intermediate Algebra


Course Description: Intermediate Algebra is a classroom based math class. Topics of study include the simplifying and solving of linear, polynomial, exponential, radical and rational expressions and equations. Real-world problem solving and applications will also be integrated throughout this introductory college-level algebra class. Students will be expected to do daily work, create homework presentations, take accurate and thorough notes, and demonstrate knowledge on assessments.


Madison College Credit Option: In addition to the 1.0 VAHS credit, students who maintain at least a C average for both semesters, and earn at least a C on the Madison College approved year-end final exam can also earn 3 Madison College credits (at no additional cost to the student).

Note:  This class is the equivalent of Madison College’s Elementary Algebra with Applications (10834110).


Prerequisites: Algebra and Geometry
