Scholarships

Scholarships- Money from various sources that the student seeks out, applies for, and/or competes for, and if awarded, does not need to be paid back.  Scholarships are awarded using specific and varying criteria, which may include financial need, academic merit, membership or affiliation in an organization or business, a special talent, or outstanding community service. Scholarships may require submission of a FAFSA and usually require completion of an additional application according to specified deadlines.

Students are advised to check the websites of the colleges they wish to attend for scholarships specific to their post-secondary institution.  In addition, students are encouraged to submit the VAHS Local Scholarship Application and to use a college search engines.

A new email account specifically for use during college and scholarship searches would effectively keep spam and junk out of your personal email account  At the same time you will not miss any serious college recruiters, scholarship notices, and/or deadline reminders.

All Non-Post Secondary School related scholarship request must be submitted to the Scholarship Committee (no guarantee that the request will be approved) by April 1st of that current academic school year. The scholarship request must be submitted by an official from the organization or an official from the donating family. Please submit all requests to Sarah Johnson, johnsosk@verona.k12.wi.us by the noted deadline. Thanks!
